A psychoanalyst is a professional who has a university degree but has also dedicated many years to specific training in psychoanalysis. This person has been analyzed for a considerable amount of time and will have constant supervision of their analytical practice. There are some orientations within psychoanalysis, such as Freudian and Lacanian, for example.
A psychologist is a professional who has a degree in psychology and can develop their clinical work using various techniques within the different branches of psychology.
